The levels of the IEEP 2018 English Program aim to help students develop English language skills to a high enough degree so that they can succeed in academic English courses and achieve the desired score in the IELTS exam. Each level is built on the foundation of previous courses along with an additional level of grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Students will be given an English placement test to be placed in the appropriate level.

During the course, students will be continuously assessed through homework assignments, quizzes, and classroom tests. They will receive feedback and assessments related to specific skills from the lecturers about their strengths, weaknesses, and progress. Students at all levels are required to take at least one practice IELTS test during the course to become familiar with the IELTS format and to help assess the learning process. At higher levels, the number of practice IELTS exams is increased.

GENERAL STREAM

Elementary

This is the beginning level of the program designed to develop the English foundation knowledge and the ability to apply for those who lack the skills to learn and practice English. This course mainly focuses on basic grammar structures and develop 4 skills, namely listening, reading, speaking, and writing. Besides, lecturers also focus on pronunciation through the practice speaking of vowels, consonants, syllable, accent, stress, etc.

Life Elementary

Pre-Intermediate

This stage goes deeper into the forming and development of basic communication platform; it focuses on the exchange of information around familiar topics every day. Vocabulary and grammar are also enhanced. Students will be able to build up basic writing skills and broaden their vocabulary. The course also emphasizes on promoting confidence in English communication. Also, this levels will help students practice and develop habits reading in English.

Life Pre-Intermediate

Intermediate

This level introduces students to the premise of reflective thinking and analysis. Students must be familiar with both written and spoken form. For the former one, students will get to know about narrative and descriptive way of writing through familiar topics and personal interests. It is the constant practice of writing and speaking that will contribute to the confidence while expressing. In addition to the reading skill, understand and analyze will also be established at this level.

Life Intermediate IELTS Production

Upper-Intermediate

The ability to express ideas independently for both familiar and unfamiliar topics began to established at this stage. Students are carefully instructed while reading so that they are able to identify main ideas in both practical and abstract subjects. At the same time, they will be introduced to a wider range of topic so that they would improve upon fluency and fast reaction. Adding more to that, students will be taught the skills to explain and express their views and ideas on various issues in both spoken and written forms. Students will get to know about advanced grammar and academic vocabulary. Reading comprehension and critical thinking continue to evolve at this level.

ACADEMIC STREAM

EAP

Students are introduced to the format of the IELTS test. They will receive proper training to assist them to take the test more efficient. Academic vocabulary and advanced grammar points are continued to be emphasized. Students are guided by strategic approaches for both writing sections. Moreover, lecturers will give them advice and tips on how to do the test more effective. Strategies for developing listening and reading skills are further highlighted and practiced regularly.

Complete IELTS Band 4-5 Writing for IELTS 4.5 - 6.0 Active Reading

IELTS 1

Lecturers present students with the grading scale and scoring criteria for each IELTS section along with guiding so that they can get the maximum score. Academic vocabulary is considered to be the key success of the test and so it will constantly be highlighted throughout this course. At this stage, students' works will be saved and analyzed. Students will continue to practice the 4 skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening. Along with that, the average of 4 tests will be given throughout this course and students will receive feedback from lecturers which help them to better prepare for the test.

Ready for IELTS Writing for IELTS 4.5 - 6.0

IELTS 2

Application of skills from IELTS 1 into the real test is the key focus of IELTS 2. Students will be instructed to analyze their strengths and weaknesses so that they can design and implement their own self-study plan. Students will also get familiar with time pressure. IELTS 2 also presents students with specific strategies for dealing with difficulties and traps. The average of 5 tests will be given throughout the course. All of the tests will be graded and given back to students so that they are better prepare for the upcoming test.

Ready for IELTS Writing for IELTS 4.5 - 6.0

ITP

This level is designed to equip students with skills, knowledge, and confidence to achieve the desired IELTS score. The course will target four major skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Each part of the course includes the reviewal of required skills, strategies, and tools so that students can better practice and enhance their confidence. In addition, students will get to review grammar points, academic writing, vocabulary, and presentation skills. More importantly, students will be able to overcome their weaknesses. All students of ITP level will have to take the average of 5 tests throughout the course. All of which will be collected, analyzed, graded, and given back to students to help them better prepare for the real IELTS test.
