Dear Prospective Student of Keuka College:
Are you :
- A person who likes to be Challenged?
- A DOER not a watcher?
- A person who wants to STAND OUT in the crowded job market?
Do you:
- want to attend classes in which the teacher expects you to DO and not just LISTEN?
- want to make your ESL ability an advantage and not a liability?
- want to acquire skills that can help you land a great job when you graduate?
If you answer “YES” to any of these questions, Keuka College at HCMUS-ITEC is the place for you..................
At Keuka College, all the courses in our International program are taught in English, so you will learn to think and work in the global language of commerce. Experienced business people and academics lead the courses using international textbooks, case studies, and their own business examples, helping you to understand and be able to apply the concepts to a real world environment. The courses require you to be active – not just sitting and listening to lectures, but instead learning through doing – reading, researching, writing, and presenting. The work will be difficult and the pace is fast, but the results will be profound.
You will be a very changed person the day that you walk out on stage to receive your degree. You will have:
- A strong grasp of reading, writing, and speaking English, not just a theoretical understanding of how to use it;
- A strong understanding of business theories, concepts and vocabulary, and be able to apply that knowledge to local, regional, and international business situations;
- Clear and definable business-related experiences – the 'soft skills' that are desirable in today's market; and
- The confidence and ability to sell yourself in the job market to land a great position when you graduate.
The Keuka College Program at HCMUS-ITEC is not easy, but it is designed to give you the most from your university education and to get you ready for your career. Your career at Keuka College will start with a course that will help you understand your own talents and how to maximize them for success in your personal and professional future. You will take a series of courses ranging from Economics to Marketing to Operational Strategy, giving you a full-breadth of knowledge in different business areas. Each year, you will be required to complete a 140-hour internship, called "Field Period." You will have the opportunity to get hands-on experience outside the classroom, applying your business knowledge to the real world and helping you discover what you like to do and in what sector you might want to work.
Keuka College and its HCMUS-ITEC partner have an active support center to help advise you on your academic path. We have a faculty that is dedicated to help you reach your potential in the classroom, and we have a growing alumni network throughout Vietnam that can provide leads into job opportunities and career knowledge. We are here to help you succeed.
If you are one of those people who wants to be in charge of your own future, we are ready to help you begin. I invite you to contact us at ITEC to speak to one of our team about the first steps on your path. We look forward to sharing that journey.
Sincerely,
Bill
William A. Myers, Ph.D.
