Trainee Android Developer and Trainee iOS Developers
Contract Type: Permanent independent contractor with 4 months trial period
Summary
Trainee Android/iOS Developers are required immediately to enable our software team to continue to support existing applications. The existing software engineer team will help and guide you with the process of learning the development environment and the application structure. You will be tasked with updating, maintaining and developing new components to the exiting application and testing these changes.
Job Description
The job will enable the successful candidate to:
- Be responsible for the design, development and refinement of new and established native apps for the Android or iOS phone platforms while working in supervision of an experienced software engineer.
- Supporting the software team on a variety of existing and future app development opportunities. With the main focus on our Seek&Spot application (www.seeknspot.com).
- Work within the team to continuously improve and refine the skills and capabilities of the team to remain abreast of current software development tools and techniques.
Essential skills
- Experience of using the Android / iOS operating system.
- Some experience of software development ideally within a Java based language.
- Good grades in university programming papers
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic about programming
- Self-motivated learner.
- Effective communication skills, able to work with the team in a professional manner.
- A pro-active attitude that is likely to win the respect of colleagues.
- Able to work as part of a team
- Organised and conscientious.
Desirable Skills
- Some experience of Android or iOS development including app deployment
